Now that it’s holiday time, I’m sure many of you are busy with shopping, planning, parties, baking and all the good things that come around this time of year. Thankfully, it’s a much different picture than this time last year.

Attend the annual meeting

At Guthrie County REC, our employees and directors are busy prepping for our annual meeting which is on the heels of the holidays on the first Saturday in January. With so much going on in our lives, I hope you can take a moment to join us in person for our annual meeting on Saturday, Jan. 8.

As a member of the community, you have a perspective that is valuable. We invite you to share it with the co-op and among your friends, family and neighbors during the meeting. You’ll hear about the financial health of the cooperative, our challenges and successes over the past year, our commitment to our communities and our priorities for the coming year.

Perhaps most importantly, you can meet and engage with our board members, even if you don’t reside within a district that is part of the 2022 election.

You might feel as though you have nothing to add to the discussion, so there is no need for you to attend the annual meeting. But the electric bill you pay to the co-op every month helps ensure better service and reliability for the whole community. Your dollars are reinvested locally into improvements that impact the reliability and affordability of your electricity. And we want to hear from you to better inform our decisions as we plan for the future.

On behalf of everyone at Guthrie County REC, happy holidays, and we hope to see you Jan. 8, 2022.
