Effective immediately, Guthrie County REC is closed to the public until further notice to limit the potential spread of COVID-19.
Our staff is available to assist members via phone during business hours.
You can call our office Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 888-747-2206.
Our after-hours service is still taking calls after normal business hours. You can report an outage at 888-747-2206.
Payments can be made via the following options:
- Call our office at 888-747-2206 to pay your bill with a credit/debit card (VISA or MasterCard) or with a bank account.
- Place your payment in our yellow drop box located in our parking lot.
- Pay online via SmartHub https://guthrierec.smarthub.coop/Login.html
- Mail your payment to Guthrie County REC, PO Box 7, Guthrie Center, IA 50115

Since 1938, Guthrie County REC has been proud to serve over 4,600 members in Adair, Audubon, Cass, Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties.
Guthrie County REC is an electric cooperative that provides safe, affordable, reliable and environmentally responsible electricity to six counties in west central Iowa. We are led by local member-consumers that belong to the communities we serve. We support the communities we serve by participating in community events, providing safety education training to local schools and a college scholarship program for children of members.
We strive to deliver the best power solutions to our cooperative members and communities.
