Central Iowa Power Cooperative is a generation and transmission cooperative headquartered in Des Moines with offices in Cedar Rapids, Creston and Wilton. CIPCO is the wholesale power supplier to Guthrie County REC, along with 12 other rural electric cooperatives and associations. They serve a population of nearly 300,000 Iowans and approximately 12,000 commercial and industrial accounts.
Iowa Area Development Group was organized by Iowa rural electric cooperatives and select municipal electric systems in 1985. IADG provides consultation and assistance services to attract businesses to rural Iowa, thereby enabling business growth, economic diversification and community vitality in their membership communities.
Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives provides services to the state’s rural electric and generation and transmission cooperatives. IAEC performs many vital functions in the areas of legislation, regulation, safety, communications, education, training, and employee benefits.

Iowa Economic Development Authority offers a variety of programs and services to individuals, communities and businesses to attract and grow business, employment and workforce in Iowa. The Iowa Energy Office, working within the guidance of the state's Economic Development Authority, manages a diverse mix of state, federal and utility-funded programs and initiatives that provide energy-economic benefits for Iowa's citizens, businesses and organizations.




 

The Iowa Energy Center Solar PV Guide was created as a guide to provide information and resources when making decisions when adding solar energy to your home to generate electricity. 

The Iowa Stray Voltage Guide outlines the steps farmers, electricians, utilities and their advisors can take to discover and resolve stray voltage concerns on livestock farms. When farmers and utilities work together, stray voltage concerns are more likely to be satisfactorily resolved. 

The Iowa Utilities Board regulates certain electric, natural gas, telephone, and water utilities in Iowa to ensure that reasonably priced, reliable, environmentally responsible, and safe utility services are available to all Iowans.  

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is a national service organization dedicated to promoting, supporting and protecting the national interests of the more than 900 U.S. cooperative electric utilities and consumers they serve.



Questline gives manufacturers and processors fast, unlimited and confidential access to a team of technical and engineering experts designed to provide answers to questions about new technologies, energy efficiency, regulatory issues, recycling, supplier location assistance and marketing assistance. Service is provided at no charge to Guthrie County REC members. 

 

Rural Electricity Resource Council is an nonprofit association that delivers information and technical assistance through educational materials, training courses, and direct technical assistance to members on the efficient use of energy, with an emphasis on rural applications.

Safe Electricity is a multi-media public awareness program of The Energy Education Council. This site provides information to consumers and compliments the safety education of utilities and educators. This website also hosts "Electric Universe" and "Electrical Safety World", all dedicated to promoting electrical safety and efficiency.

Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives is a national network of electric cooperatives that provides resources and leverages partnerships to help its member cooperatives and their employees better engage and serve their members.

The mission of the United States Department of Agriculture is to provide leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, and related issues based on sound public policy, the best available science, and efficient management. The agency supports educational and demonstration programs and assists Iowans in assessing technology related to energy efficiency and alternative energy production systems.
